Our Pole Building Process
Here at Quarryville Construction we use all top notch material provided by Legacy Pole Buildings. There is a wide variety of options available for you to customize your building.
Poles
We always use Cox treated lumber (0.40 CCA) 4x6, 6x6, or 8x8 will be used as per pole building requirements. Whether poles are 8', 10', or 12' on center, they are supplied with a galvanized clip to anchor them to the footings. We also offer Perma Columns; a great alternative to the standard 6 x 6.
Side Wall Girts & Roof Purlins
We space 2x4s @ 24" on center using #2 or better Southern Yellow Pine (no white pine is ever used!)
We use LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber), which by far exceeds any dimensional lumber in strength & durability.
Roof Trusses
Our pre-engineered wood roof trusses are designed to meet township's snow loads and requirements. Our standard is placing our trusses at 48" on center, although they can also be placed at 12", 16" or 24" on center.
Metal Roofing & Siding
Legacy Pole Buildings supplies us with all Everlast metal roofing products. Their OMNI (27 gauge) series will be used & fastened with a wood screw that has both a matching painted head & neoprene washer. All the trim is coated with the same finish as well; built to outlast all the competitors. For more detailed information, click here.
Doors & Windows
We use Pella vinyl single hung thermal pane windows with the option to upgrade to double-hung or sliding windows. We install Therma Tru doors for our entry doors and use Hormann for all of our garage doors.
Footings
When it comes to one of the most important items of your building, we stand above all of our competitors. Rather than the industry's standard 80 lb bags of concrete or a 12" round "pill" - we prefer to install an 18"x18"x12" thick 3,500 psi poured concrete footing.
Optional Add-ons
We have many additional options for you to customize your building such as interior liner panels, entry and garage door options, lean-to, wainscotting, and metal cupolas.
